Vinyl Floorcloths are easy to care for. Simply clean with water and a damp cloth - you can also use diluted hand soap on a cloth or soft sponge. For stubborn jobs try diluted hand soap on a cloth or soft sponge.
Do not use floor cleaning chemicals, scrub brushes, or vacuums on Vinyl Floorcloths!
If your Vinyl Floorcloth becomes wet, dry the top side and flip over to make sure the underside also dries to prevent mold.
Vinyl Floorcloths are printed - not hand-painted.
They have a non-slip surface and a padded backing, and are made of a layer of flexible vinyl just under 1/8" thick.
They are non-flammable phthalate-free and UV-resistant up to three years.
Vinyl Floorcloths are marketed as accent rugs, however, Vinyl Floorcloths can be used in permanent applications as well.
This is what Spicher & Co., the manufacturer, recommends for gluing the Vintage Vinyl floor cloths directly to the floor, wall, or ceiling. Please note that for wall or ceiling application, to prevent sliding, the vinyl must be supported until the adhesive cures.
A flooring adhesive similar to thisHenry 422 Premium adhesive. If you scroll to the bottom of the page it has a "Tech Info & Installation" page with more info and installation instructions.
The adhesive should be applied with a 2mm v notch trowel. Place the Vintage Vinyl on the adhesive, roll the vinyl into place to properly bond the vinyl into the adhesive.
This is the type of roller we recommend.
A concrete or surface with a smooth hard troweled finish is recommended for Vintage Vinyl. If there are any voids in the concrete surface these should be spot filled with a smooth floor patch. Any rough raised areas should be flattened by grinding. The concrete floor should be dry and should not be in an area that will be at risk of flooding or ongoing recurring dampness. The flooring can be applied with the Henry adhesive and V notched trowel that we recommend directly to the properly prepared concrete.
Vinyl Floorcloths is ideal for most flat surfaces such as hardwood, linoleum and cement. It will not damage or discolor hardwood floors. When used on tile with wide grout, please be aware that furniture legs or high heel shoes may puncture the floorcloth. Always use felt pads under table and chair legs.
Use caution! We do not recommend use on carpet, gravel, or any other uneven surface. Not recommended for use under desk chairs
Carpet pads are not necessary for Vinyl Floorcloths, and we do not suggest using them. Vinyl Floorcloths will lay flat and stay in place once unrolled on the floor.
Vinyl floorcloths are safe for both indoor and controlled outdoor use.
While they are fade-resistant in direct sunlight and durable against the elements, it is important to follow these instructions:
If your floorcloth is left in the rain, flip it over to allow the underside to dry. This prevents mold. Always make sure that Vintage Vinyl® is secured in place, as high winds may cause damage. Covered patios or screened-in porches are preferable in outdoor settings to ensure that your floorcloth lasts a long time.
There is typically a multiple week lead time for Vinyl Floorcloths which can change without notice. Current lead time is 4-6 weeks.
