Dinner at Le Vieux Belleville
For us, a trip to Paris always starts with dinner at Le Viux Belleville in our favorite neighborhood: Belleville, of course. Since 1992, Le Vieux Belleville allows you to discover or re-discover the tunes and popular songs of Paris by offering music, entertainment and great food, all in good hearted “Bistrot” spirit.
Be sure to go on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening for one of their musical nights. After dinner, stroll up the street to the Belvedere de Belleville for amazing views of the city. Give yourself an hour or so before dinner to wander around the neighborhood of Belleville for amazing street art.
A self-guided tour of the 9th Arrondissement
As one of the city's most central districts, this popular neighborhood delivers charm at every turn. First, we strongly suggest a stop at The Paris Opera House, also known as Opéra Garnier. Known as "probably the most famous opera house in the world, a symbol of Paris like Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre, their self-guided tour is affordable and the architecture and history won't disappoint.
After your tour of the Opera House, head across the street to shop at Paris's premier department store, Galeries Lafayette. Go up to the Terrace while your there for more amazing views of the city skyline.
Bateaux Mouches (Seine River Cruise)
A Seine River cruise in Paris is a unique way to see the city's iconic landmarks, especially at night when the lights are on. These boats take you past most of the major landmarks of the city, and it's a great way to enjoy all of the beautiful bridges. Lunch and dinner cruises are available, or you can just book a regular sightseeing cruise as well.
We would recommend going at night when the city is all light up.
A self-guided walking tour of Montmartre and Sacre Cour
Montmartre is one of the most charming districts in the city. Cobblestone streets, quaint shops, and tons of restaurants. Take the funicular up to Sacre Cour for panoramic views of the city. And then walk down the hill on the winding streets and just enjoy yourselves. Most Saturdays there are brocante (flea markets) set up in the public spaces which are fun to browse.
The Moulin Rouge is also located in Montmartre.
The Parisian Breakfast at Angelina Paris
Hands down, the most amazing hot chocolate in the world, we stronly recommend a stop at Angelina Paris.
They have multiple locations, but we'll point you to the one at Rue de Rivoli. After breakfast you can stroll through the Place de la Concorde, through the Tuileries Gardens, and around the grounds of the Louvre.
