It was designed in the Second Empire style by architect John McArthur Jr., who also built City Hall in Philadelphia. It has seen two fires, one of which burned it to the ground in 1879. Its second dedication ceremony in 1880 drew President Rutherford B. Hayes. During World War II, Lafayette contributed Pardee’s cast iron roof railings for the war effort. Today it houses programs in English; foreign languages and literatures; mathematical sciences; philosophy; religious studies; women’s, gender, and sexuality studies; and more.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Easton Main Street Initiative","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67119840821363,"sku":"98878205","price":25.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0582\/8306\/5459\/files\/Lafayette_College_Ornament_-_Pardee_Hall.png?v=1793911664","url":"https:\/\/bellevillemarket.com\/products\/seasonal-christmas-126e","provider":"Belleville Market","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
